LTG Keith B. Alexander, Director, National Security Agency/Chief, Central Security Service (NSA/CSS), is pleased to welcome Dr. Frederick R. Chang to his senior leadership team. Dr. Chang will serve as the Director of Research and will lead research and technology development programs at NSA/CSS.

"A forward-thinking strategist, Dr. Chang brings to the table a wealth of experience in the technology and research arenas within the private sector. Dr. Chang most recently served as Director, Center for Information Assurance and Security, and Research Professor, Department of Computer Sciences at The University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Chang holds a Ph.D. and master's degree in Cognitive Psychology from the University of Oregon, and a bachelor's degree in Experimental Psychology from the University of California, San Diego. He also completed the Program for Senior Executives at the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Dr. Chang is a member of the National Security Agency Technology Panel, as well as a member of the Committee on Telecommunications Research and Development, Computer Science and Telecommunications Board, National Academy of Sciences. Dr. Chang officially began his position with NSA/CSS on 19 September 2005.
