NSA and U.S. Naval Academy celebrate designation of Centers of Academic Excellence in Cyber Operations Program in closed ceremony

The National Security Agency and the U.S. Naval Academy celebrated the designation of the Academy's cyber operations program as a Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Operations (CAE-CO) today. The ceremony took place at the U.S. Naval Academy, in Hopper Hall, the Naval Academy’s newest building, named for retired computer scientist Rear Admiral Grace Hopper. Diane M. Janosek, Commandant of NSA’s National Cryptologic School, which houses the CAE-CO program, presented the award to the Academy in a closed ceremony.

Federal Laboratory Consortium Names Two NSA Employees to Executive Board

For the first time in NSA history, two female employees have been chosen to simultaneously serve on the Federal Laboratory Consortium (FLC) Executive Board. Research directorate employees Linda Burger and Karen Presley from the NSA Office of Research and Technology Applications (ORTA) were recently named to the FLC Executive Board.

NSA's Laboratory for Physical Sciences Announces First-Ever Qubit Collaboratory

The National Security Agency’s Laboratory for Physical Sciences (LPS) is launching the LPS Qubit Collaboratory (LQC) in partnership with the Army Research Office (ARO). First described by computer scientist Dr. William Wulf in 1989, a collaboratory is a “center without walls in which the nation’s researchers can perform their research without regard to physical location, interacting with colleagues, accessing instrumentation, sharing data and computational resources, [and] accessing information in digital libraries.”
