National Security Agency Encouraged by Vendor's Progress to Enhance Security

Addressing the audience at the Microsoft Security Summit East on 13 October Mr. Daniel G. Wolf the National Security Agency's Information Assurance Director said "I'm encouraged by the outstanding progress and future plans to enhance the security of operating systems and desktop applications. While vendors strive to do their part when it comes to the need for security the onus is now on the users. Users have to do their part by applying the latest patches and software updates."

Four pioneers of American cryptology were inducted into the NSA/CSS Hall of Honor today at the National Cryptologic Museum. In his keynote remarks during the induction ceremony Lt Gen Michael V. Hayden USAF Director National Security Agency/Chief Central Security Service highlighted the distinguished achievements of each of the inductees.

Today NSA Director Lt Gen Michael V. Hayden USAF and RADM Joseph D. Burns USN Commander Naval Security Group Command hosted the dedication of a U.S. Navy EA-3B Skywarrior jet aircraft at National Vigilance Park.
