NSA’s Centers of Academic Excellence students give Florida a peek at the Nation’s future cybersecurity workforce

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Over the course of three days, over 200 students from NSA’s Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity (NCAE-C) designated schools and USCYBERCOM’s Academic Engagement Network tested the security of a fictional port. Armed with fictitious threat intelligence, students identified solutions and overcame obstacles as they either attacked or defend parts of a Fort Lauderdale port carrying U.S. government defense weapons.

NSA and U.S. Naval Academy celebrate designation of Centers of Academic Excellence in Cyber Operations Program in closed ceremony

FORT MEADE, Md. — The National Security Agency and the U.S. Naval Academy celebrated the designation of the Academy's cyber operations program as a Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Operations (CAE-CO) today. The ceremony took place at the U.S. Naval Academy, in Hopper Hall, the Naval Academy’s newest building, named for retired computer scientist Rear Admiral Grace Hopper. Diane M. Janosek, Commandant of NSA’s National Cryptologic School, which houses the CAE-CO program, presented the award to the Academy in a closed ceremony.
