NSA Continues Work towards a Green Campus

An empty space on NSA/CSS Washington’s (NSAW) East Campus, where construction materials are currently stacked up, will soon be transformed into a new park.

This bioswale at NSA-Washington holds rain water in place and acts as a filter before the water either recharges groundwater or flows into surface waters.

FORT MEADE, Md. — In 2009, government agencies were asked to assess their energy usage and environmental efforts to strategically move towards sustainability for the Federal government and because of this assessment, the National Security Agency made a commitment towards proactive environmental stewardship to our employees and neighboring communities through green environmental strategies and by building innovative structures.
