The National Security Agency's (NSA) National Cryptologic Museum (NCM) added two new interactive children's game kiosks to its list of attractions. The donated items are the result of a continued partnership between the NSA and the National Cryptologic Museum Foundation. The interactive kiosks provide a new and exciting aspect to the visitor experience with the intent to encourage, stimulate and promote interest in linguistics and statistical analysis - two disciplines that are critical to developing the cryptologists of the future.
The first game, "Taking a Ride on the Crypto Express " is a test of analytical skill involving a futuristic train that takes kids on a challenging journey through the cryptologic universe. The second game, "Crypto Challenge " features a wide range of quotes from historic figures such as Eleanor Roosevelt, Yogi Berra, Mark Twain and Helen Keller. Portions of the quotations are presented on the screen in the form of a cryptogram. The game then challenges the participant to solve the puzzle.
