Friedman Documents

Supplemental Correspondence

This supplemental collection of records contains correspondence and memoranda pertaining to the William F. Friedman Collection. The records were created and maintained by the NSA/CSS History and Archives office between the years 1960 – 1984. The bulk of the material consists of correspondence between the Archives and History Office, the Information Security Division, and the George C. Marshall Research Foundation in Lexington, Virginia. These records have been preserved in the NSA/CSS Archives as historical program files and provide additional context to the story behind the historic William F. Friedman Collection which were released on NSA's external website in April 2015.
